Property spotlight
At 4253 Cutlass Lane in Port Royal, every room seems to turn toward the deep water just beyond the lawn.
Property spotlight
From the street, the house keeps a calm composure at dusk. A gabled entry glows beneath a wood ceiling, balconies flank the center, and clipped hedges are brightened by red bromeliads.
Then the property turns toward the water. Set on 0.73 acre in Port Royal, the two-story residence, built in 1998, holds 6,883 square feet of living space and 147 feet of frontage on a deep basin, a no-wake stretch where boats pass at an easy pace.
In the dining area, corner windows frame palms, lawn and open water. A glass table holds bowls in orange, blue and green, a wood-plank ceiling warms the room, and glass doors open to a deck with lounge chairs waiting. Small blue glass pieces line the sill, a collector's touch.
Elsewhere, a bedroom takes a different tone. A wood headboard wall doubles as a shelf for painted ceramic vessels, the vaulted ceiling is clad in wood, and a black chaise sits near a bold abstract canvas. A private study, a media room and a wet bar round out the interior.
The covered upper level may offer the best vantage. A wall of glass rises to a gabled wood ceiling, and beyond it the pool, the lawn and the basin stack one above the other, with a yacht resting at the dock.
The waterfront is built for use. A wooden private dock has a boat lift, with water and electricity at the slip, and the pool is paired with a spa. Four garage bays sit under the same roof, and five bedrooms and five full baths, plus two half baths, give the plan room to breathe.
At nightfall the rear facade glows, palms rise against a deep blue sky, and the pool edge draws a clean line toward the water. It is a house for people who measure a day by the light on the water.

Boating
A David Walters Yachts broker reflects on 15 years of sailing, unexpected deals and memorable deliveries.
Boating
When people say, “Do something you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life,” I think about my career in yacht brokerage. After 15 years as a broker with David Walters Yachts, I can honestly say that the journey has been every bit as rewarding, challenging, and unpredictable as I had hoped when I first entered the business.
I have always had a background in sales, so the opportunity to become a yacht broker felt like a natural next step. What excited me most was the challenge, the opportunity to learn an entirely new business, and the chance to meet the fascinating people who are drawn to boating. I was also genuinely interested in boats of all sizes, and as a sailor at heart, I knew this was an industry I could connect with on a personal level.
What I didn't fully appreciate at the time was just how far this business would take me, both geographically and in terms of the experiences I would encounter along the way.
One of the things I enjoy most about yacht brokerage is that no two transactions are alike. Every client has a different vision, every boat has its own story, and every sale brings its own set of challenges. Over the years, I've learned that successfully selling a yacht involves much more than matching a buyer with a boat. It requires patience, persistence, creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate situations that don't always follow a predictable path.
The experiences have been remarkable. My work has taken me from Cartagena, Colombia, throughout the Caribbean, and along the East Coast from Maine to Key West, as well as to California. I've arranged deliveries and shipments to destinations as far away as Hong Kong.
Boating
I've worked with interesting people from all walks of life and found myself involved in circumstances I could never have anticipated when I started.
Some transactions have led me into extraordinary situations, including dealings connected to a story that ultimately became the subject of a full 60 Minutes episode. On another occasion, I had to obtain signatures to transfer ownership of a yacht from inside a federal penitentiary.
These are not exactly the experiences you imagine when you first think about a career in sales, but they illustrate what makes this business so unique. Yacht brokerage can take you places you never expected, introduce you to people you would never otherwise meet, and challenge you to find solutions to situations that are anything but ordinary.
Perhaps that unpredictability is part of what drew me to the business in the first place. I enjoy the challenge, the variety, and the knowledge that each new day might bring something entirely different.
While the business side of yacht brokerage is important, my personal connection to sailing has always been a big part of what I do. I have a genuine appreciation for boats and the people who love them. For me, the opportunity to help clients find the right yacht is especially rewarding when I can also share in the excitement of getting that boat out on the water.
Over the years, I've had the opportunity to sell larger sailing yachts, including boats that have gone on to circumnavigate the globe.

Real Estate
Why buying an extraordinary home is only the beginning.
Real Estate
The address is perfect. The architecture is impressive. The view is everything you imagined. But there's one thing even the most extraordinary home can't come with: your personality.
In Southwest Florida, luxury real estate is as much about lifestyle as location. From waterfront estates to sophisticated high-rise residences, buyers are drawn to exceptional properties that promise a certain way of living. Yet finding the right home and feeling truly at home are two very different things.
Because while a property can check every box on your wish list, it doesn't necessarily tell your story.
Walk into almost any luxury residence and you'll find the expected hallmarks: soaring ceilings, expansive windows, exquisite finishes and impressive square footage. But what makes one home unforgettable while another simply looks expensive?
Often, it's the details that have nothing to do with the price tag.
The way a room welcomes conversation. A carefully curated art collection that reflects years of travel. The unexpected pairing of materials that reveals a homeowner's personality. A favorite chair positioned to capture the afternoon light. These are the elements that transform impressive architecture into something far more meaningful.
The goal isn't simply to furnish a home. It's to create an environment that feels unmistakably yours.
Real Estate
One of the most important considerations when personalizing a new residence is understanding how its owners intend to use it.
Perhaps that formal dining room would be better suited to intimate gatherings. An oversized guest suite could become a private wellness retreat. A beautiful but underutilized living area might transform into an inviting lounge where family and friends naturally gravitate.
For seasonal residents, the priorities may be different. Entertaining spaces need to transition effortlessly from quiet weekends to a house full of guests. Furnishings should balance sophisticated design with the practical realities of coastal living. And every room should feel ready to welcome its owners back, whether they've been away for a week or an entire season.
This is where thoughtful interior design moves beyond aesthetics and begins to influence how a home actually lives.
Creating a cohesive residence requires looking at the bigger picture. It's not simply about selecting a sofa that complements the flooring or artwork that fills an empty wall.
It's about understanding how architecture, lighting, materials, scale and furnishings work together to create a complete experience.
Sometimes the transformation is subtle: introducing warmer finishes, rethinking furniture placement or layering textures to bring intimacy to an expansive room.
Dining

Set a beautiful table, invite good company, and let the evening take its time.
Some evenings deserve a table with no next reservation. Linen catches the last light, glassware reflects the water, and something bright from the kitchen signals the start of a long conversation.
Our dining pages follow the people, places, and small rituals that make a meal memorable. A seasonal ingredient. A thoughtful cellar. A host who knows when to leave the table alone.
At home or out in Naples, the most enduring luxury is a feeling of ease. Set a beautiful table, invite good company, and let the evening take its time.

A coastal interior has an unusually generous collaborator: the light. The most compelling rooms work with it, allowing the view to shape the palette and the rhythm of the space.
Pale surfaces, carefully placed seating, and a measured approach to ornament create room for the landscape. Texture brings the intimacy that scale alone cannot provide.
Our architecture pages explore that balance: the details that make a house singular, and the choices that make it feel entirely natural to live there.

At 405 Neapolitan Way, the conversation between architecture and water continues long after the sun goes down.
Real Estate
From the water side, 405 Neapolitan Way reveals itself as a series of frames. Pale columns hold up deep rooflines. Broad openings connect the rooms within to places for gathering outside. Above the pool, a sheltered balcony offers another perspective on the same view.
The composition is generous, but its appeal lies in the details. Timber tones soften the terrace ceiling. A long sofa settles beside a fireplace. Beyond the glass, the interior lighting lends the outdoor spaces a welcoming glow. Rather than a single grand gesture, the house offers a succession of places to pause.
By blue hour, the relationship becomes especially clear. The water reflects the columns and open rooms, drawing the building into a second, quieter composition. Even when the doors are closed, the eye continues outward.
Inside, the residence film reveals a similarly thoughtful balance. In the kitchen, pale cabinetry and a broad island meet warmer wood overhead. Glass pendants bring a lighter touch to the room, while open shelving makes space for objects and small personal gestures.
The study has a different character: geometric wall detailing, illuminated shelves, and warm curtains beside tall windows. It is a room with its own point of view, connected to the landscape through the palms just beyond the glass.
These shifts in texture give the house its rhythm. Spaces for conversation sit alongside spaces for concentration. Crisp lines are balanced by woven furnishings, soft upholstery, and the changing color of the sky.

The result invites a closer look, room by room.
Upstairs, the balcony gathers a small circle of wicker chairs beneath a paneled ceiling. A low table holds the center; the water fills the opening beyond. It is a simple arrangement, and that is its charm. The architecture provides shade and shelter, leaving the setting to do the rest.
Imagine the day moving between these places. Coffee above the water. Time spent inside as the afternoon warms. An evening carried from the table to the terrace, with the pool catching the last light. The house suggests a way of living in which the outside is always close.
At 405 Neapolitan Way, the waterfront is more than a backdrop. It brings movement to the stillness of a room and a sense of openness to the end of a day. An exceptional address begins the story. The moments between home and horizon are what make it personal.

Food, wine & good company
Extraordinary wine. A lasting difference for local children.
Food, wine & good company
A beautiful bottle has a way of slowing a table down. Someone notices the vintage. Someone else remembers a journey. Conversation finds its own pace. In Naples, that familiar pleasure becomes the starting point for something with a much longer horizon.
The Naples Winter Wine Festival returns January 29–31, 2027, with The Ritz-Carlton Naples, Tiburón as its central setting. Wine, food, and philanthropy come together over three days, supporting the Naples Children Foundation and its work for children in Collier County.
The intimate scale of the vintner dinners is part of the appeal. On Friday evening, Festival Trustees welcome guests into private homes and other settings throughout Naples. Celebrated vintners and award-winning chefs come together over a carefully planned meal, with each host setting the tone for the evening.
There is a particular pleasure in wine enjoyed this way. The bottle becomes a conversation; the menu, an invitation to pay attention. For visitors, the dinners offer a personal introduction to Naples hospitality. For those who already call the city home, they create the possibility of seeing a familiar place through fresh company.
Saturday brings a different rhythm. The live auction at Tiburón gathers rare wines, travel, and singular experiences under one tent. Anticipation builds around each lot, but the significance is shared: a winning bid can become meaningful support for someone beyond the room. Wine Down follows, while Sunday’s Celebration Brunch offers a final occasion to gather.
Food, wine & good company
The weekend begins with a reminder of why everyone is here. Friday’s Meet the Kids Day introduces guests to organizations supported through the foundation’s grants and to the children whose lives they touch. It places the festival’s hospitality within a larger community, giving generosity a human scale.
That connection gives the gathering its character. Fine wine can tell the story of a place, a season, or the people who made it. Here, opening a bottle also helps write a story much closer to home.
Some experiences stay with us because of how they feel. Others endure because of what they leave behind. This is a weekend with room for both.
